Jasmine Downing

Science Instructor

Jasmine Downing is a Science Instructor at PopSmart Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Astronomy from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona. Her passion for teaching young students stems from her experience mentoring in physics and optics labs, as well as working with children in educational and community settings.

Alongside her academic work, Jasmine has conducted astronomical research in stellar spectroscopy and presented her findings at national conferences, including the American Astronomical Society. These experiences have strengthened her ability to explain complex scientific ideas in clear and engaging ways.

Jasmine believes that early exposure to science builds curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking skills that benefit students far beyond the classroom. She is committed to creating a supportive and interactive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore new concepts, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
